Landscaping calculators

Free material and pricing calculators for landscaping and lawn care crews. No email, no sign-up, and every assumption is an editable field rather than a number we made up.

Why the numbers are editable

Most calculators online publish one coverage figure as though it were universal. Pallet coverage, bale coverage and seeding rates all vary by supplier, region and cultivar — a single national number is wrong in half the country.

Every assumption here is a field you can change, with a sensible default and a note on what moves it. Put your own supplier's figures in and the answer is worth trusting.

How to get an answer worth trusting

Measure the area that actually gets the material, not the whole property. A half-acre lot with a house, a drive and three beds might have a fraction of that in turf, and pricing off lot size is how crews end up losing money on the busiest properties.

For an irregular shape, break it into rectangles and triangles, work each out, and add them together. Long strips along a drive are worth measuring separately rather than folding into a bigger rectangle.

Then check the coverage figure with your own supplier. Pallet coverage, bale coverage and seeding rates all move with region, cultivar and how tightly something was baled — which is why every one of those is an editable field here rather than a number we picked.

And add the waste allowance. Ordering the exact measured quantity is how a job ends half a pallet short on a Friday afternoon, and a second delivery costs far more than the offcuts do.

Numbers that carry over to the next job.

SodStack keeps your service rates, estimates and job costs in one place, so each season prices off the last one.
